Houston Dream Fund:

NO MATTER HOW CREATIVE YOU ARE, it is difficult to imagine the curves life can sometimes throw your way. Illness, tragic loss and other life-altering events can destroy a person’s ability to handle their troubles alone. That’s why DREAM Fund exits – to help people in the communications industry when the truly unimaginable strikes.

DREAM Fund is a nonprofit foundation and the support link serving the advertising, public relations and media communities throughout the Southwest. The mission of the fund is to aid colleagues in Texas, Oklahoma, New Mexico, Arkansas and Louisiana facing an unexpected medical emergency or life crisis and in need of emotional support and financial assistance.

DREAM Fund contributions have helped ease financial burdens for a divorced mother of four young children after being diagnosed with breast cancer. Donations helped rebuild a family’s life when their home was destroyed by a fire. And in Houston, a cancerous brain tumor threatens a young mother’s life, leaving her teenaged son with many unanswered questions about the future. Since 1991, DREAM Fund has given hundreds of thousands of dollars to individuals facing such hardships. We are here to serve people.

Houston Food Bank:

For the tens of thousands of children who go to bed hungry each night in the Houston area, an afternoon snack or evening meal is a necessary blessing. That is why the Houston Media Classic takes pride in making the Houston Food Bank the event’s primary beneficiary for over 13 years and continues to support their fight against hunger.

The Houston Food Bank serves 400 hunger relief programs in an

18-county service area including food pantry programs, shelters for the homeless, safe havens for the battered and abused, as well as nutrition sites for children and the elderly.

Through programs like the Kid’s Café, Operation Frontline, Community Kitchen programs and a weekly Food Fair outreach, the Houston Food Bank is making a difference in Houston. For more information about the Houston Food Bank and its affiliations, we encourage you to visit www.houstonfoodbank.org.

We want the best advertising and communications talent to be in Houston – in every facet of our business. The better the talent, the stronger our ad community becomes, the more we all benefit. It’s our community that makes this happen.

AEFH raises tax-deductible funds primarily to award scholarships to college students likely to locate in Houston. Funds also go toward seminars and grants for college professors to enrich the quality of their advertising curriculum.

Tax-deductible contributions can be made to the AEFH General Fund; or and endowment can be created in the name of an organization, company or individual with the potential to perpetuate that philanthropy forever.
